Columbia Global Centers

From Nairobi to Rio de Janeiro, our Global Centers build bridges among researchers, scholars, students, and local partners to foster engagement, understanding, and innovation.

Columbia’s Global Centers serve as gateways — connecting Columbia to global communities and bringing global perspectives back to campus.

With 11 Centers spread across four continents, this network expands Columbia’s intellectual reach far beyond New York. In each city, we partner with local institutions on events and projects for students, faculty, and alumni, as well as with local academic scholars, professionals, artists, writers, and others who contribute to our global impact.

Faculty collaborate closely with local leaders and practitioners. Students enjoy hands-on learning experiences. Alumni and the local community gather for lively events — from film premieres and book talks to policy forums and cultural gatherings.
