Santiago

A launchpad for collaboration, discovery, and action.

Santiago

Since 2012, the Columbia Global Center Santiago has been connecting Columbia with the people, ideas, and institutions in Chile and the broader Latin America region.

The Santiago Center has become a vibrant space for research, education, and public engagement. From climate resilience and democracy to journalism, health, and sustainability, the Center supports programs that bring together Columbia faculty, students, alumni, and local partners to tackle the issues that matter most.

Thanks to Chile’s unique geography and innovation ecosystem, the region is a living laboratory for research in earth sciences, renewable energy, and public health. The Center brings Columbia into the heart of that dynamic landscape. Its programming includes study abroad opportunities and academic exchanges, fieldwork, and research collaborations with local universities, workshops and virtual internships that push learning beyond the classroom.

The Santiago Center also hosts events ranging from policy panels and film screenings to book launches and art showcases. Many are co-organized with Chilean universities, think tanks, NGOs, and institutions, rendering the Center a valued space for inspired dialogue, learning and inclusive participation.
